ABSTRACT

The aim of the chapter is to discuss the relationship between globalization and sustainable development. The first part of the article focuses on presenting globalization in theoretical terms and describing its impact on the development of individual regions of the world. The second part of the article discusses the negative effects of globalization, which were particularly visible during the COVID-19 pandemic. The third and final part of the article is a brief discussion of the term deglobalization and characterization of the idea of sustainable development, which seems to be the answer to the problems arising along with the progress of globalization processes.
