ABSTRACT
In the midst of intense difficulty or when clients don’t feel that they are making progress in re gard to their problems, frustration, anxiety, and anger can intensify. Even though parents, chil dren, and adolescents may not feel that they are making progress in the direction of their goals and preferred outcomes, they have inner and relational qualities that keep them from “bottom ing out.”
