ABSTRACT

The largest broadcasting corporation on earth is British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). In US, there are an estimated 3,788 broadcast television stations and 628 broadcast networks, 50 of which are nationwide. Programming in America is delivered via terrestrial television stations, cable or satellite services and over Internet through a myriad of branded outlets ranging from Spanish language, genre-based, news, sports, lifestyle, religious and shopping networks. More than 92 percent of German households have cable or satellite television and watch, on average, almost four hours of television a day. Russian President Putin and China's Paramount Leader Xi Jinping have aggressively pursued Sino-Russian media, culture, history and language exchange. Three Chinese channels are currently broadcast in Russia. With a total television viewership of 415 million, India is the second largest TV market in world, behind China. Africa's wholesale television content business has doubled since 2010, now worth almost $500 million US in annual revenues, 95 percent of which is traded at DISCOP Africa.
