ABSTRACT
Chapter 8 provides an overview of the most relevant ethical and political matters discussed by Islamic theologians and philosophers. I explain the centrality of the religious law within the theological schools and the development of an Islamic ethics, contrasting it with philosophical ethics. And since ethics is connected to politics, we shall delve into the importance of political associations and into an exploration of the social and political theories of different Islamic philosophers.
