ABSTRACT

The development of vocabulary that describes features, characteristics, and traits of objects and environments is emphasized in this lesson. An additional intent of the lesson is to broaden the students’ understanding of descriptive words that are comparable or contrasting. Recognizing how and why words define similarities and differences is reinforced and practiced. The students are expected to comprehend the transfer of these adjectives to varied situations: pictures, stories, and artistic renderings. The development of language patterns that have many and varied meanings is essential to create student awareness and interpretation to advance comprehension and communication abilities. The teaching and learning of language interpretation and usage is a significant factor in the maturation of students as learners and scholars. The importance and practice of the concept of curiosity is introduced and implemented in different situations. During the course of the lesson, note individual differences among students in their involvement in structuring and addressing questions.
