ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 “The state-led growth economy and social policy in Korea: Reappraisal” explores the economic and social performances in the 1960–70s Korea. In detail, this chapter answers the following research questions: What was the performance of economic policy in the 1960–70s Korea? Was there any meaningful social policy for these years? Did social policy function as an instrument of economic development? How and why was social policy excluded from the key arenas of government policy for these years of economic development?
