ABSTRACT

An employee may not remember the number of bonuses that he was given by an organisation, but he will surely remember how he was made to feel by his bosses and those around him. Emotions and feelings play a big role in the workplace. This lesson delves into the fundamentals of emotions and how they impact our feelings. It talks about the various actions that leaders need to take to make sure people have positive emotions and negative emotions are kept out. Leaders also need to develop emotional intelligence not only to manage their own emotions but to ascertain and influence the emotions of those around them. When employees feel positive emotions, they are not only engaged but also more productive. Keeping an eye on people’s emotions during quality-improvement efforts is a must for their success.
