ABSTRACT
This chapter is focusing on the process of planning and discusses the question of how something is planned. This is in essence an issue of governance. Governance is the central concept discussed in this chapter. Therefore, the definition of governance is addressed, as well as actors within governance processes, and governance and integrated planning. With examples from regional governance, the chapter provides a useful toolbox for a deeper understanding and discussion on governance in and of planning.
