ABSTRACT

In formative assessment, learners are the focus and they only learn through 1) seeing what they need to do, 2) trying and then seeing how they can improve 3) and then showing their learning by doing a better job the next time. This will never happen unless there is a next time. Rough drafts are a perfect example of formative assessments. As a common thread in this book, learners can work together and all be engaged in the formative assessment and learning process and that the Rule of Three applies here as well. There is no formative learning going on from assessments if the learners are not allowed to take the test, quiz, evaluation etc… again!
