ABSTRACT

Chapter 5 presents the results of the study of individual-typological empathy correlates, its relationships with the development of self-awareness, and the value-requiring sphere of personality. Here we analyze the role of the phenomenon in the formation of self-affirmation of the personality and the development of its self-concept, in the experience of loneliness, the specifics of meeting needs, in determining value orientations, setting life principles and goals, and determining the criteria for professional suitability for socionomic professions. The family is shown to be an important culturogenic factor in empathy actualization and development. Gender differences in the relationship of empathy with the system of determining factors of personality development have been established.
