ABSTRACT
Perhaps the most important part of the director’s job is using people skills to be sure the preproduction, production and editing go smoothly. Also critical is achieving the best performance from actors and a positive sense of crew morale. To achieve these things, the director wears different hats at different times. He or she must be a coach, a consultant, a manager and an instructor. These essential qualities are covered in this chapter.
