ABSTRACT
The concept of arbitrary and authoritarian imposition of power on defenseless human beings was given new meaning, on a scale never before imagined, by the Nazis. The enduring pain of the survivors and their children is incalculable, the events very much alive in their memories to this day. I treated many Holocaust survivors and listened multiple times to descriptions of the horrors they suffered, and the profound negative effect on their children. This chapter painfully catalogues a number of such treatment episodes.
