ABSTRACT
Mental Model #7 is a common Mental Model known as the Pareto Principle which states 20 percent effort leads to 80 percent results. Using this principle, this section narrows down which 20 percent of the Mental Models carry the most “freight” in policing to make practitioners into a “worldly-wise” person. The underlying Power law distribution is explained to lay the foundation for why natural phenomena tend to concentrate. This Mental Model sets up the introduction to Mental Models #8 and #9.
