ABSTRACT

A boy stood at the home plate of an abandoned baseball field gazing hopefully over the centerfield fence. He yelled, “I am the greatest slugger in the world!” He tossed a ball in the air, swung his bat, and missed. Undaunted he yelled again, “I am the greatest slugger in the world!” Again he tossed the ball in their air, swung his bat, and missed. Undaunted by two failed attempts to hit the ball over the centerfield fence, the boy confidently yelled, “I am the greatest slugger in the world!” He tossed the ball high in the air and swung his bat as hard as he could. Again he missed. The boy threw down the bat, picked up the ball, and started for home. Upon arriving the boy’s father asked, “How was your day son?” The boy responded, “Well, it turns out, I am the greatest pitcher in the world!”
