ABSTRACT

Human Problem-Domain Communication and Construction Kits. Logo was originally developed to enhance general intellectual skills that can be developed in computational environments. But the Logo culture was more successful in building interest worlds (e.g., Turtle Geometry) on top of the general Logo programming environment, allowing learners to explore at their desire and their interest a specific cluster of ideas. These interest worlds enable learners to perceive the communication with the computer at the problem-domain level, allowing them to concentrate on the problems of their domain and to ignore the fact that they are using a computer tool.
