ABSTRACT

The possible admixture of radioactive contamination with the evidentiary items of conventional forensic analyses poses an unusual problem for traditional criminalistics.Such samples of “mixed” evidence require special handling and treatment to perhaps decontaminate aquestioned specimen, generate separate waste streams of radioactive and combined radioactive/hazardous wastes, or even conduct standard examinations within the con–nes of a controlled-environment glove box or hot cell.
