ABSTRACT
Two of these principles are unique to environmental finance. A few are simply a recitation of a Best Management Practice (BMP) in business. Several are principles of the basic mathematics of finance. Others are common sense. Regardless of provenance, they bear restatement. And they bear restatement together, in one place. The instances in which these principles occur are not in isolation. Simple principles, such as putting just one person in charge, occur in tandem with much more complex concepts, such as wherever possible, use loan guaranties instead of loans. Ideally, these principles should be condensed to a single page and kept in the center desk drawer.
