ABSTRACT

Texture brings much contrast and character to drawings. The great fashion illustrators from the 1950s to the 1970s skillfully illustrated line art which was used for ads in newspapers and magazines around the world. Unfortunately, the use of fashion illustration in advertising declined in the late 1990s due to photography, the internet, and more video instead of still images. The cost of photography was also less than hiring an illustrator. However, it’s worth noting that fashion illustration is still used in some specific areas such as luxury brands, editorial media, and in some cases, for commercial projects. Different fabrics have different attributes that can affect their look and feel, as well as their suitability for certain garments or styles. Gravity has a significant effect on clothing, and how it is perceived by the viewer. In art and animation, depicting the effects of gravity on clothing can help bring characters and costumes to life and make them look more believable.
