ABSTRACT
Preparing future healthcare professionals with the necessary competencies related to patient safety issues is the key to success in patient safety practice. This chapter aims to develop patient safety competencies and learning outcomes based on the literature and experts’ opinions. The developed competencies and learning outcomes are related to knowledge, cognition, communication, education, collaboration, life-long learning and personal/professional development, leadership and management, patient care, medication safety, patient safety, prescribing, ethical, legal and professional responsibilities, health Promotion and community services, researcher and technology user.
