ABSTRACT

Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye, authors of a popular Christian book series entitled, Left Behind, had signed over their gaming rights to Lyndon, and he envisioned a video game franchise that would sweep the Christian community and spill over into the mainstream marketplace. He asked if he would be interested in learning more about his company, Left Behind Games, before committing to score the game. Even billing at $1,000 per minute would consume most of the budget, and he wanted to be sure they had enough money for live production. This would still slightly overrun the budget, so he offered to cut back on his finished minute rate even more in exchange for the publishing rights for the music. Now it was time to see if this crazy composition map he envisioned would actually work. When the music cross-faded, it sounded like the score was simply trading counter parts rather than conflicting melodies.
