ABSTRACT

Parallel to the music the author composed for video games runs a second body of work comprised of more than 80 credits, stretching from the early 1990s to the early 2020s. You will not find them listed on IMDB. Rather, this was music the author composed and produced for media projects of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Perhaps instead of describing church music as a parallel career path, he should label it an interlaced career path. Summon a mental picture of any movie director or producer you can imagine. None of them look anything like Gary Cook. A sweet man with a razor-sharp mind, Gary was short and rounded, and completely bald except for a small patch of stubborn hair clinging behind each ear. In late 1992, Gary was directing a film for the church called On the Way Home.
