ABSTRACT
Information from investigations gives Treasury officials the means to cut criminals off from the global financial system. There are, of course, other situations, which, under federal or state law, require involving law enforcement. Another reason the people might want to cooperate with law enforcement is if their company, as a result of the conduct of employees, has potential criminal liability. The implications of going to law enforcement and getting them involved are significant. Once law enforcement is involved in investigation, it becomes their investigation; they are in control. Law enforcement will still take control of the investigation, the evidence, and the prosecution of the case.
