The Practice of Pharmacy in Later Medieval Egypt

This chapter covers what we know (or think we know) about how pharmacy was practiced in Egypt in the late medieval period, under the Fatimid, Ayyubid and Mamluk dynasties. It is based mainly on the evidence for practice derived from a pharmacopoeia explicitly written for practitioners in the marketplace, combined with material found in the Cairo Genizah.
