ABSTRACT
After graduating from Dartmouth, Deirdre moved to Los Angeles, CA where she teaches literacy and English Language Development to high school students. She has been active in the Black Lives Matter movement as well as a member of the Racial Justice Committee of her school district’s union to combat the over-policing of Black and brown students. She formed a social justice organization where she teaches to combat anti-Black racism, white supremacist ideation, voter suppression, sexism, heterosexism, and LGBTQ discrimination.
