ABSTRACT
Our chapter is an overview of embodied approaches to language comprehension. We consider the empirical evidence supporting the claim that language comprehension is grounded in sensorimotor representations. We also consider criticisms of the embodied approach and recent concerns about the replicability of key findings in this literature. The chapter concludes with some thoughts about the future of embodied approaches to language.
