ABSTRACT

This vignette reports on the Supporting Adolescent Girls' Education project in Zimbabwe. This project's aim is for adolescent girls and young women (aged 10–19) to access and take part in a non-formal education programme through learning hubs across 11 districts in Zimbabwe. This vignette discusses assumptions about language which have been made by participants within the project and discusses approaches to assessment which allow learners to use both English and their home language.
