ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to describe the specific elements of life coaching (mainly for physicians) and reports the experience of the authors in this field, including case studies of the professional and life transitions of senior physicians. Clients ask for coaching in the personal, private, family, or existential spheres and express their desire and hope for change. To define the client's goals, we must identify her values and aspirations, which can be a difficult and lengthy process. Life coaching may be a long-term endeavor, often lasting a year or even longer. This practice requires a high level of skill and experience and a wide range of working methods and techniques.
