ABSTRACT

Transport is characterised by the complexity of technical, operational, organisational and legal connections as well as the diversity of movement of people and cargo in time and space. One of the fastest modes of transport is air transport. In the literature on the subject, the concept of transport is interpreted differently. It is usually considered in a systemic perspective with the following components: roads, means of transport, engineering structures. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the fact that the authorities of individual countries began to introduce restrictions in the form of orders to wear masks, measure temperature in strictly defined places and prohibitions to travel, especially by passenger air transport. The study attempts to examine the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of economic security, preceded by a multivariate comparative analysis of primary data on the number of passengers landing in Germany according to the continent of their destination.
