ABSTRACT

In this chapter the authors explore the impact of COVID-19 on college sport in the United States of America. In addition to professional sport, the other significant sporting business in the United States is intercollegiate sport. For instance, some of the larger college football team programmes in the United States can generate revenue of up to US$100 million per annum. In Chapter 11, the authors investigate the economic impact of COVID-19 on college sport and dissect the consequences for the participating universities in the college sport sector.
