ABSTRACT

This conclusion acknowledges the work as in a sense “incomplete” as it establishes that the evidence supporting weight loss for health is questionable and the evidence for sustainable weight loss is entirely lacking. The evidence that weight bias negatively affects health, access to health care, and quality of life is considerable and growing. As clinicians, researchers, and educators, we are responsible for focusing on well-supported evidence. Additionally, we must continuously educate ourselves and change our practice when new evidence suggests new practice.
