ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes an analytic framework that considers flows, circulations, and accumulations as mutually constituted in a triple dialectic (hereafter F-C-A). Within a triple dialectic, each constituent element is shaped by the other two elements, yet has specific characteristics (Figure 2.1). When applied to complex phenomenon such as sports mega-events, the F-C-A can function at multiple levels of analysis, providing insight into key actors, dynamics, and contingencies.
