ABSTRACT
The relationship between mental disorder and crime is largely axiomatic and not clearly established either philosophically, objectively or scientifically. There are fundamentally four positions to outline in this debate:
• A: mental disorder in criminals; • B: mental disorder in non-criminals; • C: criminal behaviour in psychiatric patients; • D: criminal behaviour in non-psychiatric people.
