ABSTRACT

Frequently, we encounter great difficulty in removing stitches following plastic surgery in infants. Some infants cry simply upon seeing scissors, whereas others become unruly because of their fear of restraint during stitch removal. Even more difficult is the insertion of scissors points under knots in the case of fine sutures. Sometimes the skin is unavoidably injured or a portion of thread is left in the skin when stitches are removed several days after plastic surgery.
