ABSTRACT

Suppose there is a cylindrical shell with diameter of 7600 mm and thickness of 34 mm. Five frame positions are configured on both ends of the spherical bulkhead, with frame space of 600 mm, outer frame of ((22 × 240)/(30 × 120)), spherical shell diameter of 11000 mm, cylindrical shell junction flitch thickness of 20 mm and length of 200 mm, spherical shell plate thickness of 32 mm, and reinforcement ring-cylindrical shell junction thickness of 60 mm. The material used is certain type of high-strength steel, with yield strength σs = 785 MPa (Sun et al. 2005), modulus of elasticity E = 1.96 × 105 MPa, material density ρ = 7.85 t/m3, Poisson’s ration μ = 0.3.
