ABSTRACT

Part II, containing Chapters 5-11, could be described as the "backbone" material of the text. Many of the mathematical and practical "tools" used for making decisions involving investments are presented. Chapter 5 is concerned with interest and time relationships, Chapter 6 discusses methods of calculating depreciations and depletion costs, Chapters 7-11 are devoted to profitability analysis, comparison of alternates and replacements, risk evaluations and sensitivity analysis, economic decision models and optimization techniques, respectively.
