ABSTRACT
Proper function of the adrenal cortex is essential for the maintenance of all tissues and organs. Both hyper- and hypofunction can be life threatening. Understanding the etiology, treatment, and management of adrenal cortical disease is particularly critical in the perioperative management of patients.
