ABSTRACT
SARS-CoV-2 is an emerging variant responsible for the causes a severe pandemic, and that leads to various complications in the people, including severe respiratory symptoms, and causes the death of many people. The vaccination has been developed, for the combat of a virus, but the mutation on the spike protein of a virus that leads to the increased severity of vaccines and decrease the effectiveness of the vaccines. On the mutation in spike proteins that leads to variants such as alpha, beta, omicron, delta, gamma, mu, zeta, lambda, epsilon, and these all variants leads to increase the severity of the disease. This chapter contains the all detailed information of a variants, their mutations, anti-viral agents, immunomodulatory agents, vaccine, diagnostics, detection, and molecular diagnostics of the SARS-CoV-2 and associated variants.
