ABSTRACT

Talent management (TM) and human capital management (HCM) systems are widely used by organizations to manage their workforce effectively. However, with the increasing reliance on these systems, cybersecurity has become a significant concern. Cybercriminals constantly seek to exploit TM and HCM systems’ vulnerabilities, compromising sensitive employee data and intellectual property. Therefore, this paper explores cybersecurity techniques in TM and HCM systems to enhance security and mitigate cyber-attack risks. First, the chapter introduces cybersecurity’s merits in TM and HCM systems. The purpose and scope of the paper are also outlined. It then discusses common cybersecurity threats in TM and HCM systems, such as phishing, malware, and insider threats. The paper also provides examples of past security breaches in TM and HCM systems, highlighting the need for effective cybersecurity measures. The next section of the chapter focuses on the cybersecurity techniques that can be used to secure TM and HCM systems. Discuss the possible best practices for implementing cybersecurity in TM and HCM systems. Employee education and training are essential to ensure that employees know the merits of cybersecurity and understand the measures in place to protect the system. Regular security audits and assessments can help identify system vulnerabilities and ensure that it is updated to the latest security standards. Collaboration between IT and HR teams is crucial to ensure cybersecurity measures align with the organization’s overall security strategy. Compliance with industry regulations, such as health insurance portability and accountability act and general data protection regulations, is also essential to ensure the company meets regulatory and legal requirements. Further, it demonstrates ways that provide real-world case studies of organizations that have successfully implemented cybersecurity measures in their TM and HCM systems. The analysis of these case studies demonstrates the impact of cybersecurity measures on the organization’s overall security posture. The paper emphasizes the importance of effective cybersecurity in TM and HCM systems and provides recommendations for organizations to improve their cybersecurity posture. Therefore, this paper presents an overview of the importance of cybersecurity in TM and HCM systems, highlighting the common cybersecurity threats and techniques for securing the system. Best practices for implementing cybersecurity in TM and HCM systems are discussed. The real-world case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures in enhancing the organization’s overall security posture.
