ABSTRACT

Water and air are the most vital natural resources because life on earth would perish without them. Population growth, intense chemical and biological pollution, and climate change are of profound concern for developing a sustainable environmental management system. Presently, satisfying diverse stakeholders with conflicting objectives is a huge challenge for a sustainable resources management system. Some frameworks and evaluation tools are proposed for natural resources management, based on principles using different disciplinary approaches. However, adopting various methods and frameworks with multiple objectives in a dynamic system is challenging. This chapter emphasizes the various aspects of a dynamic adaptation approach in environmental systems modelling and the way forward to policymaking in sustainable resources management.
