ABSTRACT

6G wireless networks will transform customer services and applications through the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), ushering in a future of expert and autonomous systems. This chapter looks at the 6G in addition to IoMT convergence, emergent openings offered by 6G technologies (6GTs) in medical networks and applications. Next, it highlights some 6GT fundamentals of future IoMT networks, e.g., space-air-ground-underwater communications, edge intelligence, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, Terahertz communications, massive UltraReliable Low-Latency Communication (mURLLC), and blockchain. This chapter discusses 6G with IoMT (5G-IoMT) in healthcare in-depth, highlighting intriguing research challenges and latent directions for future exploration in this promising domain.
