ABSTRACT

Naturopathy is an art of treatment, completely based on scientific principles, governed by natural laws. But due to the lack of proper knowledge of its concepts, this scientific practice is being represented as pseudoscience, nonevidence based, and are constantly being defamed. Thus, the current chapter is dedicated to understanding the modus operandi underlying this promising discipline. In this chapter, the authors discussed the postulates given by the Great Hippocrates about the art of healing which clearly indicates that the system of medicine that he taught people about is the naturopathic way of treatment. The sections of the chapter explain some of the postulates of the Great Hippocrates: how they form the basis of the Naturopathy system of medicine and how they are governed by the natural laws. In some instances, the chapter also provides a comparative view of how conventional medicine differs from the Naturopathy in their approach of dealing with patients and how integrating these two systems together will lead to a personalized healthcare system.
