ABSTRACT
At present, the two most critical phenomena affecting cities worldwide are urbanization and climate change. Indeed, on the one hand, the United Nations (UN 2014) estimate that nowadays 54% of the human population is living in urban areas (up from 34% in the 1960s); on the other hand, global climate changes are directly affecting the economy of cities as well as the quality of urban environments.
